I had a 32 gig wifi iPad on order from Apple, but decided to cancel when Mac Mall told me they'd be shipping tomorrow. I checked the order status site after ordering, which says backordered.

According to Macmall rep 7171, my iPad is shipping tomorrow with second day delivery.

Has anyone else had this experience? Am I being run around?

Just got off the phone with Macmall. They assured me that their shipment would arrive tomorrow. Checking the site again for status, my card was processed, and it states ship date as 23 May 2010.

Apparently there have been some people that have had orders with them since the beginning of the month that have yet to ship.

I was told the 16 GB 3g I ordered from MacMall would ship either this past Thursday (which it didn't) all the way up to the latest of this next Thursday (05/27). After reading several posts on here I have become skeptical of their promises and instead am going to try to snag one at Best Buy if they ever get in stock (I still have my order with MacMall).

Good luck but I would hold my breath about it shipping it tomorrow.

I'm going to check the local stores to see if I can snag one.

I see you said Wifi model and for some reason I had thought you had said 3g. When I ordered my 3g model they said they had the Wifi in stock so I have no doubt you will get your iPad soon.

Order status says backordered. I'm hoping I get one soon. They said again that they ship tomorrow. We'll see. :/

I hope that means Macconnections will be getting some soon too. I ordered mine on April 16th.

I checked there before ordering from Macmall. They stated they're expecting a shipment Friday or the following Friday. (Don't forget about Memorial Day!)

Yea, but I have been hearing this for weeks. I ordered on April 16th, and was told the 3Gs would arrive to them on the 30th. Then it got moved back to May 14th. Then May 21st. Then last Friday about noon, they said "no shipment today, it's coming in a week". So I am not exactly confident that they are really getting them this week. Although the fact that another internet authorized reseller, MacMall, is getting them this week, is encouraging. But I'm not holding my breath.

Unless it's "in stock" when you order, do not trust MacMall shipping dates. They are as phony as a two dollar bill.

Here is how it works: some monkey in the back office types in an "expected" date. Sometimes this date is from the warehouse, sometimes it's just pulled from thin air. That is the date the phone reps will quote. They don't have any knowledge to the accuracy of the date. Their job is to just repeat it and make a sale. Also just because they are getting a shipment in on X date doesn't mean yours will ship on that date. If there is a backlog, it's first come, first served, which they don't usually tell you. So if they get in 100 widgets, but you are 101 on the list, no dice.

Well their latest lie to me is that I am on their "Priority List". What ever that means.

I had a 64GB 3G on order since last week with them and they stated that it would be here on Friday of last week, but it did not show. I called this morning and cancelled the 3G and got the 64GB wifi since they were listed as in stock.

Order only updated with "order processing"

Looks like it's actually coming. Order status says "In Process" and shipping is listed as "null." According to other posts here, as soon as it hits that stage, the next phase is for the tracking info to list.

Wednesday can't come fast enough.

Congrats. I was going to get a Wifi version as well but decided that having the 3g would be great when I take my business trips. I guess I might should have compromised because it seems like it will be a while before I can get my hands on a 3g model.

Just received confirmation on the 64GB wifi that I ordered this morning will be here tomorrow!!
