MacMini Freezes within a few hours - log help please?

Hi everyone,
I've just got a new MacMini, I say new I purchased from eBay last week. All was going well but I'm finding that when 'unobserved' the unit will freeze after just a few hours. I left the unit on overnight and this morning for example I found no signal coming from the HDMI but the light was still on. I left it alone from about 23:00 last night and the logs stop at 01:29 until I rebooted at 09:01. Can anyone identify from the logs what the problem might be?

The first thing I did when I got the machine of course was format the hard drive and do a clean install of 10.9 which I recall did freeze during the installation and go to a blank screen so I'm suspecting a hardware issue. Problem is, its hard to pinpoint because TechTool Pro's tests all come back ok.
The only thing I remember thats standing out is when installing I found I could not re-partition the hard drive for MacOS extended, I could only format it (I don't remember the error code now...)

I would try replacing the drive as you had problems, they are fairly cheap these days. If that doesn't work then maybe faulty memory?

I'd check the memory modules, one of them could be on the way out.
I had the "freezing" problem after updating the memory on my 2010 mini, turned out one of the modules was faulty, changed it for a good one, no more freezing.

I would re-install the operating system before changing a hard drive. If you can't partition the disk that appears a bit off – or was it that you were booted on the recovery partition ?

Cheers guys. I managed to solve it, I reinstalled the OS over FireWire by booting it into target disk mode and running the installer on my MacBook Pro. Repartitioned and formatted all ok, zeroed out the disk and reinstalled. So far no more freezing.
