It definitely can't handle a 30" ACD, but I'm pretty sure that it is capable of using the 23".
I would guess that the size of TV doesn't matter. If you get a DVI to video adapter, then the TV will be displaying the video signal. The quality of the picture might suffer though if the screen is too big and there is a mismatch between that and the highest resolution the Mini can display at.

So what I'm hearing is that a mini, connected to a TV with DVI inputs will show 1920*1200 resolution on any size screen, but that that top-end ACD, which needs a special dual DVI connection, is too much for the video card?
Is this right. Is 1920x1200 better than a $100 DVD player would look like connected to a 32in LCD TV with DVI in?

Just having a look through the forums on the Apple support pages here, it seems that there are mixed messages concerning connecting with DVI.
You shouldn't have any problems if you connect with a video adapter (but the picture may look like crap if there is a large difference between the screen size on the TV and the resolution the Mini offers)

A Mac mini should be able to drive any HDTV at its native resolution; compared to a high-resolution computer monitor, HDTVs are pretty small.Aimee Doe said:

yeah, 1080i (top of the line HD, cept for 1080p) runs at 1920x1200, and the mini will run that, the 32" HDTV prolly wont even do 1080i, prolly 720p I'm guessing, unless its a really nice HDTV, so the mini would drive it fine... and its way cooler than a $80 prog. scan DVD player

Aimee, most LCD televisions do not have very high resolutions. Dell's 32" LCD TV has a native resolution of 1366 x 768 and I think that's typical. It's very rare for an LCD TV to have resolution like a 30" LCD designed for a computer.

I dont see why a mac mini couldn't drive the LCD TV if you have the resolution set right.
yeah, you are right I believe 1080i/p is 1920x1080, thats what a LCD TV would have assumin it could run 1080, but computer monitors (Apple 23"/Dell 24" etc) run @ 1200 not 1080
