Hi,
Due to lack of time in building a server I stupidly didn't mirror the drives...

Now I need to fix this for obvious reasons so here is my plan..

Current "live" server is 2 hard drives, HD1 contains all the usual OSX etc.
HD 2 only contains data share.

We have a "spare" server for emergencies/DR so I plan to build that as it should be - ie mirrored etc, then can I use Migration assistant to essentially clone "live" to the "spare"?

Or would I be better using CCC or SuperDuper?

Is there anther quicker way of doing this?

Thanks!

you are going to have to deal with the distribution of data (OS on drive 1 + data on drive 2). This is going to have to be merged into one drive's folder structure.

Presumably the data can simply be copied off to a spare drive (ext. usb)...

The OS and all your setup will need to be cloned to an image (or ext. drive).

Then setup your raid and get mirroring in effect.

Then clone back your OS.

Then copy back your files.

Yip, migrating the shares from the second drive to the OS drive is easy enough and exactly what I was going to do.

Cheers
