Hello all,

I've checked about but can't seem to get a consistent answer. Namely this.

I've got a new mac mini coming, and a sony 40" 1080p tv which I want to hook it up to. Will the mac mini be able to work with the tv via:

mini-dvi to dvi adapter > dvi to hdmi cable

Also will it just expand to fill the screen properly when plugged in or will I have to tweak it to get it right?

Any help would be appreciated :)

thanks!

you can actually find a mini dvi to HDMI adapter and it gives a bit sleeker connection behind the mini.

As for the tweeking it is hit and miss I have seen some that just plain work ad others that need some love. The only point I have heard is to make sure your TV is on prior to turning on the mini.

I have the new Mini to my Sony 50" LCD. You can get a DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor (coming soon) or MiniDVI to HDMI.
