hey guys i want to hook a unit up to my tv, but i was thinking of using the macmini instead of ATV.. my question is.. would i get the same video quality out of the MacMini VS. ATV? thanks

I have a Mac Mini core solo running my home theater (projector-based) and a 5.1 digital opical audio system (Onkyo). Video quality is great, but I've not compared it side-by-side with my ATV, which is connected to my 480i 4x3 SDTV. Make sure you can get a connector from the Mini to your TV.

I am guessing it comes down to:

NVidia chip hardware acceleration vs the integrated intel solution's video output quality.

I think both can play video without problems, but the interpretation could be different. I think the only way to do that is to directly compare with your own eyes.
