Hi, I have a new 14" MBP and the 12.0.1 update is not showing up for me. I'm stuck on 12.0. However, when I first set up the machine, I saw that 12.0.1 was available but it failed to update.

I tried rebooting in safe mode and also running the terminal update command but I still can't get the update to show up.

Any ideas?

Having exact same problem. And I cannot open the photos app because I used migration assistant from an M1 MacBook Air that was running 12.0.1 so it wants an updated version of photos to open the library. Frustrating..

It's kind of like previous OS releases with previous Macs that were released about the same time the OS came out.

I'll guess that the OS that comes on the new MBP 14" and 16" models is slightly "modified" ... i.e. "different from" the general release version of Monterey that is posted for download for other (previous) Macs.

Simply stated, the new MBP's won't run on the "general release" of Monterey.
And for that reason, it's not downloadable by them.

It may take "a future release" to get this sorted out.
Something like
12.0.2
or
12.1.

I could be proven wrong.
Perhaps they'll sort it out in a few more days.
