MacOS 12.3.1 update bricks optical drive

Has anyone with an ASUs DVD/CD ZenDrive upgraded to MacOS 12.3.1?

Early in the OS update, my drive started flashing its busy light then, having completed the upgrade, it continues to do so and refuses to read discs.

Has anyone else had a problem, or have I just been unlucky?

I have an ASUS DVD/CD (not sure if it's the ZenDrive, but I will take a photo of it and attach). I have the latest version of Monterey and the drive is working well.

Edit: I forgot to write the version: Monterrey 12.3.1 working without issues. Connect with through a single USB Port.

I have an Asus BW-16D1X-U. I'm on OS12.3.1. No issues here.
