When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 14 Sonoma will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.

Trying not to be too premature.. But *so far* the app hanging / freezing issue now appears to be resolved on my end. Perhaps others experiencing this problem will chime and report their findings.

All streaming services(Netflix etc) no longer work in safari while an external monitor is connected due to a HDCP error.

Doesn't happen in any other browser so it's def a Safari issue.

Since august, in almost every macOS updates my mac turn completely off instead of rebooting during the update process and when I turn the machine back on, the update continues normally without any problems. Don't have any other problem when its updating as well.

Is it something I should worrying about? And what cause this? iMac 2020 here.

Still on Ventura since I’ve heard 14.1 was kind of a mess. What’s the verdict so far with 14.1.2? Should I wait for the next dot release?

I have a 14” MBP M2 Pro fwiw.

iMessages/SMS aren't coming in on my Mac since I updated to 14.1.2 but I still get them on my phone.

No one else having this problem?

On 14.1.2. The eject command is not there, right-click or menus, or command-e are not there. The only way I can eject an external disk is using the Disk Utility.

Is this a bug others experience? Is there a fix?

Thanks for your reply Lou.

The trouble I am having is that a disk image cannot be ejected as in the past. Turning on the "Show eject in menu bar" option doesn't eject the disk images.

I am puzzled.

Okay... I figured it out. It works now.

I recently installed Tinker Tools to try to make fonts a little more readable on my 4k monitor, and in the "Finder" section, there is a checkbox to disable the "Eject" command. I must have clicked that checkbox without realizing.

Now all is good! (It's those little things) (I wish Apple would allow better control over fonts, especially that now so many of us are using large monitors).

Thanks

Seems the memory leak bug is fixed for me on macOS 14.1.2. I did not change any settings after the update, and now WindowServer eats about 2.35GB of memory after 1 day of regular usage, it was more than 7GB previously on my M1 MBP. (16 + 512)

I have been encountering the problem that the display keeps off when I open the lid (Device: MBA M2). Now I have some new discoveries in the `system.log`:

+ Dead process, I'm opening the lid many times

This issue may be also related to power management. The dark screen seems never happened when using the battery.

This is probably nothing new, but Mail app does not let you turn off sound for notifications. I'd like to get banners, but no sound, but as it is I will turn off notifications for Mail.
