  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 14 Sonoma will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.

Still unable to select a folder in the Photos app to randomly cycle thru wallpaper. It just displays the default Sonoma wallpaper. Reported this WAAAAAAY back in the early macOS 14 beta days this summer, and it’s STILL an issue.

FB13282770 is still marked as “open” and “more than 10”

Apple Mail seems completely F'd on my machine after the update. Not display images in emails properly.

Hi everyone,
Is this release of Macos Sonoma finally stable and suitable for professional use as main system to work on which I depends on? Thanks.

I have a late 2015 27" Fusion iMac. Everything runs well for me, except running Accelerated 3D Graphics in VMWare.

Given that, I am currently only running Sonoma on an external Samsung T5 SSD. My main Fusion drive still runs macOS Monterey.

I have been using computers since the time of Nixon. I am hard-wired paranoid WRT backups, duplicate good copies of systems and the like. Everything you can imagine will go wrong with computers, and much that you can't imagine.

So adding music to library on Mac 14.2 sticks it in the year 1904. WTF.
UPDATE a further reboot has resolved this but Apple Music now seems super glitchy with this update. Blank album art even if playing from the new Favourite album in ‘recently played’. Hey ho.

Only you can answer that question as it depends on the programs you use and extensions you may have installed.

As for me, I have had no issues besides few bugs during beta releases. It was annoying but did not prevent doing any work.

What do you mean by "professional use"? Hard to answer your question without knowing what that means.

That said, Sonoma works fine for most folk, but, as always, there are a few bugs – none that affect me, though – and odd behaviours that some folk experience.

I am no longer able to use external keyboard and mouse after the update... 16" M1 Max.

Any one facing similar issues?

I've got an M1 MBP and a 2018 Intel Mac mini and am having no issues with my Keyboard and Trackpad on either.

The problem with the external monitors seem to be a regularity in the first few versions of every apple operating systems.
I remember it on all mac os operating systems for the last few years.

Can we confidently assume that Google is deliberately breaking YouTube Picture in Picture in Safari? It works at the start but as soon as an ad or new chapter starts in a video then Picture in Picture is unusable.

While I can use Finder while logged in with my Apple ID I have lost Time Machine. I have turned off iCloud Drive and Photos and I also Optimize Mac Storage off.

There is nothing syncing, anyone know how to clear that?

Time Machine cannot back up because some iCloud Drive files have not finished syncing.

Syncing happens when your Mac is turned on and connected to the Internet. Syncing may take a few days. Syncing will happen more quickly while your Mac is connected to a power source
