Great White North - aka Canada
my Apple Maps does now show the map on this RC. I have location services on for maps... (only grids show up, but no map data)... even at different locations, no map data...

Anyone else notice this?

Mine was like this but it fixed itself once I chose a destination from favorites.

If anyone here uses Audacity (3.4.2), can you check the playback/record meters (if they appear), and the smoothness of the progress bars? Thank you.

I keep getting crash reports for the 'managedappdistributionagent' Process quitting unexpectedly. 3 times so far in about 10 minutes after a reboot.

I used to get that error 2-5 times a day on beta 4. And yes, I did send feedback to Apple.

With RC, it occurred when it first installed RC and rebooted. But since then, I have not had that error. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I received the crash report (I think?) 3 times on both an M1 MBP & a 2018 Intel Mac mini, all within the first 10 minutes, and then nothing since. I've been sending Feedback in, too.

I also noticed my MBP keyboard backlight just seems to stay off after resuming from Screensaver or even just from booting up and logging in. I'll then set it to about 60% or so and then have to go back and change it back again. Very frustrating.

Yep, me too😱 I get unexpectedly quit banners. Another issue for me, since beta 5, I can no longer import pics from my Canon camera in Adobe Bridge connected through USB. I can import fine using the Photos App❓

So, on a supposed 10th Gen Ice Lake 2020 rMBP running at the highest speed (2.3 / 4.1 GHz) every other beta, full screen sports video was showing ripples and stutters.. I tried picking static backgrounds, picking simple screensavers, trying with and without the adapter, disabling Wipr / Noir.. couldn't make those ripples and stutters disappear..

But with 14.2 RC it looks like Apple finally removed the delay loops or whatever the hell was causing the slowdowns, now I can't get it to ripple / stutter even if I pick the fancy schmancy screensavers like the Sonoma flyovers.

Well... the dreaded "managedappdistributionagent unexpectedly quit" error that showed up on beta 4 has returned on RC.
UGH!

Sent feedback to Apple. Hope they get this error fixed on the RC v2.

Yeah, I'm seeing this quite often on both an M1 MBP and an Intel Mac mini.

nothing like that here, on my M2 air or my mini pro. what does 'managedappdistributionagent' do?
Not sure but I’m thinking it has to do with validating installed apps? It’s been widely reported.

I went back to 14.1.2, and lost the option to download Developer Betas, only Public Betas show up.

I tried to download the beta (from 14.1.2) and it only offers beta 4. Is that the old one or is that the RC build?
You have to download beta 4, install it and after the smoke clears, run Software Update again and it should offer you 14.2 RC

14.2 just went to RC 2 anyways..
