This was a post I made last Wednesday:

An issue for me, since beta 5, I can no longer import pics from my Canon camera in Adobe Bridge connected through USB. I can import fine using the Photos App❓

Lou

I just discovered that this issue was reported to Adobe:

TinyGrab Screen Shot 12-12-23, 9.44.56 PM.png

I can report that as of 14.3 Beta 1. the issue is now fixed👍🏻

Seems like this has been built at least 3 weeks ago, as a bug with the sliders that were present in one of the later macOS 14.2 Betas is back.

I am tempted to install this one to see if it will allow me to use time machine to my external ssd which stopped working at 14.2 - it states time machine cannot run because an iCloud backup is not complete. this happens with icloud storage on or off and even if my id is signed in or not. more fun in that it still backed up all my photos to iCloud even with the option toggled off.

No change. My time machine backups are broken. there is no icloud activity whatsoever but it always fails. I have turned off all iCloud features other than keychain - however when I look at storage it shows storage being used for photos, but only half of my total library. So I suspect it still believes it needs to backup all my photos to iCloud before it will allow Timemachine to work.

I am not sure if deleting photos from Cloud will fix that and am tempted to turn it back on and just hope it can copy the other 18g of photos to Cloud.

Code:
Time Machine cannot back up because some iCloud Drive files have not finished syncing.
Syncing happens when your Mac is turned on and connected to the Internet. Syncing may take a few days. Syncing will happen more quickly while your Mac is connected to a power source.

Given this is on a 2019 iMac I doubt I can get phone assistance.

I have turned off iCloud except for keychain and still the problem persists. At this point I am assuming their is a flag/file somewhere which is used to indicate a cloud backup is in progress. How to find that is beyond me but I its not like I have an alternative

Today I woke up and found that my time machine backups are now working. This is the first day since 14.2 dropped that they have worked and I installed 14.3 when available in hopes of fixing the issue 14.3 introduced.

the best part, according to icloud I use only 23.7 MB of Cloud storage.

No indication of what the system thought was being backed up and looking at what is there I cannot tell either

I got to stop doing betas. It seems iCloud constantly breaks. My messages app will not sign into iCloud and unlock with Apple watch constantly breaks as well. Fortunately I can get to my icloud files but they don't seem to sync back to icloud so I can't see updates on my iPad.

Is it a deliberate thing to disable iCloud on early betas?

doesn't happen here. if it happens on the next non-beta, you could contact apple about the issue...
