I have an issue with the CAPT Printer Driver & Utilities for Mac V10.0.7 [macOS 10.13.6 - macOS 14.3.1] downloaded from a Canon support page and which will not work on my Mac which is running macOS Sonoma v 14.2.1 and a Canon Laser Shot LBP3000 printer

After I install this driver, the System settings display indicates CAPT driver version v10.0.2 when it should be v10.0.7. This may explain why it will not work on my system? Is Canon distributing a package containing the wrong driver?

I am keen to hear from anyone with a similar experience (and who knows what to do about this). I don't want to buy a new printer just yet!

16 Mar: FreakinEurekan has pointed out (thank you) that there is a later version of macOS (14.4). I have installed 14.4, removed and re-installed the printer driver using the latest download from Canon, but the printer still will not work. The installed driver shows as v10.0.2 but is supposed to be v10.0.7.

I hesitate to ask, but… why are you running Sonoma 4.2.1? 14.4 is out now.
Thankyou. I hadn't registered that there was a 14.4 available. I have now installed it but the printing issue remains unresolved.

Okay. Some people have weird attachments to older versions, or phobias about new ones. Which is why I was hesitant to ask; those convos get strange.

Since that didn’t clear it up - try resetting the printing system, and if that doesn’t sort it create a new test user account and see if it installs for that user.

I take it this printer doesn’t have AirPrint - fortunately all mine do now, it was rather a pain setting up printers before that.
