Other than just increased iPhone, iPad, and Mac continuity, my only real request for macOS 15 is very simple.
Time Machine in the Cloud
It is absolutely ridiculous that in 2023 You can theoretically have 24 TB of iCloud storage, but you can’t back up your macOS system settings options natively without an external hard drive.
We’ve got 12 TB iCloud plans, and the ability to have Apple 1 stacked on top.
We’ve got the majority of Max that are sold having 256 GB SSDs.
We’ve got documents and desktop in the cloud.
We’ve got Safari bookmarks, history and tabs in the cloud.
We’ve got messages in the cloud.
Photos in the cloud.
iCloud music library (although this one definitely could use some work)
So why is it not possible to store a full copy of a macOS’s system state in iCloud?
It’s been on the iPhone and iPad since 2011.
At least back then you could argue that iCloud maxed out at 200 GB and the majority of iPhones were only 16 GB, but when both the MacBook Air and iPhone 15 Pro Max start at 256 GB and there’s iPads with 2 TB built in it just falls apart.
Should have been a feature in Mountain Lion 12 years ago
