  • Cleaned up & stable Apple Music; it's currently buggy & that needs to be fixed ASAP!
  • Native support for Progressive Web Apps. Yeah you can use them in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Firefox but having to have the browser open to use them is annoying AF
  • The aforementioned window snapping/management tools
  • Redesigned System Preferences, like this
  • Redesigned Launch Pad

I would like to see Terminal improved to follow something similar to what Microsoft did. Tabs and support for a wide range of "Terminals".

Oh, and allow Safari to fully support web apps.

Like Windows and some versions of Linux (Elementary OS, are you listening) macOS comes with very little that you can use to edit any type of file other than email, photos and RTF text files. You have to install apps to edit any other type of file.

TextEdit will already open OpenDoc text (ODT) files and you can then save them as RTF or DOCX

Alternatively the free LibreOffice (or the paid MS Office) will work with all OpenDoc file formats including images and spreadsheets.

But yes, it would be nice if Pages and Numbers could open OpenDoc files. But you still have to download and install them from the AppStore.

What do you mean by "wide range" of terminals? Terminal emulates the standard Unix terminal behavior which is what MacOS is built on. You can change the emulation in the Profiles -> Advanced tab in Terminal settings. There are tons of settings in the Terminal program.

And the Terminal program already supports multiple tabs in the same window. As well as multiple windows.

Hi All,
What would y'all like to see in MacOS 13? Id like to see just one feature...better window management. Have window snapping like on Microsoft AND have 4 apps on the screen, one in each corner.

What do y'all want to see?

Rectangle does that (and more) for free, with great shortcuts. I get that it should be native, but that issue is solved by multiple apps.

I preferred when Apple was not on a yearly release cycle. Now there is pressure to get new features out on some arbitrary deadline. I'd rather they just release a new OS version when it's ready.

Hold down the green button on a window gives you that option.
Even better, install the app Moom and you will snap and move open windows even better than Windows.
You can even easily do "full screen" but still have the menu bar and dock visible, sort of how windows are maximized in Windows.

I want another Snow Leopard release. Promise nothing more than what is currently around in terms of marquee features and then bug fix/retrofit the hell out of the internals so we get disk space back, it's more stable, and built for whatever nonsense they decide we need every year instead of whenever they're done with it. If I have to wait until they kill the Intel code, that's a bummer, but so be it.

I'd like to see OpenGL and Vulkan (re)implemented alongside Metal. It almost certainly won't happen, but hey, a guy can dream, right? Shy of that, it'd be nice to see Metal gain feature parity with DirectX and Vulkan so that compatibility layers for them can work more stably and reliably and with fewer glitches.

Good point, I was referring to items such as Powershell for MS functions.
