MacOS 27 Name

To continue the Snow Leopard theme, I wondered if they might call it macOS 27 Lake Tahoe. That has a nice ring to it, although not sure if it strictly makes sense from a geographical standpoint.

Failing that, I do like the sound of macOS 27 Emerald Bay. “Miramar” is also growing on me.

There have been rumours for the last couple of years that they might forego names entirely and just focus on the version number. I know it makes no practical difference to anything but I hope they stick with the names… I always enjoy the cheesy ‘reveal’ during the keynotes!
 
Ouch! Thanks for bringing that to my attention, judgeFire... I live in the UK, and this particular story had passed me by. In that context, the name 'Lake Tahoe' would indeed be pretty 'tone deaf' to say the least.

My hope would be for Apple to totally eschew all this AI hype and focus on functionality instead, but that's for another thread. Mind you, given their track record so far, one could argue they're already eschewing AI by accident! 😀
 
This is the first time they’ve used a manmade structure as a location. Hopefully they will introduce some fun dynamic wallpapers of the waters or fog.
 
Does anyone get the joke? Apple just basically revealed their plans.. Gate.. think about why we have gates.. This is indeed a very bad bad day for Mac OS... RIP Mac OS..

I think it's named Golden Gate for the strait over which the Golden Gate Bridge crosses, rather than the bridge itself?
 
Mac OS is already in prison, locked up, this new name provides all the proof of Apple's intention to shutter Mac OS, it is not an accident they chose this name, it is a very sad day that a once great OS is about to be terminated..
