This must have been re-instated some time ago and I just noticed it - but the ability to show album artwork when viewing my music library in 'songs' view (what I would normally call 'list' view) is now available again (in 'view options')!

Music version 1.1.5.74 is what I have installed currently.

This had been removed at some previous incarnation of Music on macOS, and I seem to recall complaints about it here somewhere. I couldn't find a thread already mentioning this and discussing it, so decided to start a new one and see who has also noticed this (and appreciates it).

I am on Big Sur 11.5 b2 / Music 1.1.6.12 now and a major issue has been fixed

Turning off "Show Artwork" now works and stays off after a restart

Been a long time - but finally resolved - can someone confirm?

However it is not updating the 'plays' count for each song / track.

I have not had any issues with the "Play Counts" in any views - they have worked for me since Catalina and all the Big Sur versions of Music - just checked again on `Music 1.1.6.12 and songs are updating correctly

also the ability to show artwork in song view has always worked in Music - but would not stay off if you disabled it (CMD + J) - that has now been fixed in Music 1.1.6.12

Thanks. I must have missed the update regarding artwork, I'm sure it was not available but that may have been multiple versions ago and I hadn't tried to show artwork for quite a long time.

I'll try again after restarting and see if the play counts is now working.

My main issue with Artwork was losing about 1/3 of the artwork when I switched to Music (Catalina) and have been slowly / manually adding it back ever since - probably because I have a lot old CD's that I imported into Soundjam and early versions of iTunes

Plays is still not updating for me.

I also have had artwork issues from time to time. My iTunes library is mostly from CDs that I've individually copied into iTunes, and I went to a lot of trouble to get the artwork right so that it was the same as the CD the music came from. If I let iTunes put artwork into my music library then it will often put an alternate artwork. I've always kept the 'automatically update artwork' box unchecked and for the most part that keeps things the way I want them. I know that some users have lost artwork but as far as I know, that hasn't been a problem for my own music library files.

I think I'd like it more if the "artwork" column didn't have the associated text that makes the column wider than it needs to be. I can take away the "artist" and "album" colums to regain the space but I don't like not having them.
