So im trying to do a clean Catalina installation on a MBP, but when it has installed Catalina its exactly the same as before, meaning none of my stuff is gone and my user account is still there. I have made a bootable USB drive with the Catalina OS, downloaded from Appstore on the same computer which i´m trying to do a fresh install on.
I used the program Install disk creator to create the bootable USB drive.

Am i missing something here?

Do i need to delete the drive before i install Catalina if i want a fresh install. If yes how is that done?
I tried following some guides online but they suggested just to boot from the USB drive and install Catalina from the USB drive?

Some help would be very appreciated, have been doing this for hours now.

yes, after booting from the USB you must use disk utility to wipe/erase the partition/volume you want to install on.

Thanks for your answer. I just tried that, didnt knew if it would work. After i erased the drive in disc utility it showed in the Catalina installation screen that i had no available drives to install it on, i had not made an APFS volume after the disc erasing.
Now im currently doing an internet recovery installation. I hope it will be successful?
