Make sure your USB stick is 16GB formatted Extended Journaled Whan Mac are your trying to install to

An error occured while attempting to save the BaseSystem image. Ensure that there is at least 10GB
of free space on your Startup Disk, ten try again."

The Macintosh HD has 46GB free space.

What is supposed to do?

Are you trying to install on a supported or unsupported Mac and are you using the newest version of the Catalina patcher and if you are on a unsupported to Mac you can post questions in the macOS Catalina for unsupported Mac forum ttps://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-10-15-catalina-on-unsupported-macs.2183772/

I had similar problem and I fixed it with Erasing the External Hard drive with Selecting Master Boot Record in the list of the schemes when erasing the drive. Hope this helps.

same here, but i tried these following step when i realized that included BaseSystem.dmg file is corrupted.

or any other mandatory files is corrupted, try download the installation packages again
