I've just tried out the Photos app (updated version in High Sierra) and imported a stack of photos from a USB drive. Most are fine, but about 10% have the wrong date in Photos, but the correct date shows if I check the actual file properties in Finder.

In Photos, it gives me impossible years like 1902, 2018, 2032.

It has nothing to do with the camera date. All of my files have the correct date when you view the info in Finder or Windows Explorer.

What is going on?

It's for around 100 photos and videos that have been given the wrong date by Photos.

Thank you very much for the heads up, it looks like EXIFTool may solve my problem. I find it strange how the file date is correct, but exif date is apparently wrong. If the camera had the wrong date, you'd think both dates would be wrong.
