Additional Notes

  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 15 Sequoia will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.
  • macOS 15 is officially supported on the following devices. If your device is not listed below, it has unfortunately been dropped by Apple. Any efforts of trying to get your Mac running macOS 15, including bugs should be discussed in this thread.

Showed up on my 2018 Intel Mac mini but not yet on my M1 MBP...

Installed and running well for me. I did have to reauthorize a couple kernel extensions I have installed as they prompted for permissions again.

OTA update from rc1 so far so good on a Macmini8,1 2018. It was a full 14.5 GB download and several restarts.

I wonder why they decided to push the full install. I assume it must have been important in some way. We'll probably never know but I am curious since rc1 is still running here on another Mac and need to decide whether to go rc2

It appears that a full installer was provided for those updating from RC1 to RC2, whereas those on Beta 7 only received an incremental update

Thank you, that does explain it. I'll wait until the final public release before updating the other m/c

Updated my MP7,1 to 15.1, basically runs smooth.

Two things I noticed about Sequoia:

- my GPU uses a lot more power and has a hard time entering idle states
- mediaanalysisd is going nuts

I have my MacBook Pro 16" connected via HDMI to a 32" 4K 144 Hz monitor. After updating, I can't use the scaled resolution 3008x1692 (same as Pro Display XDR, so things look "normal" sized on macOS) with 144 Hz refresh rate or variable refresh rate, which was working (at least, I could set it and my monitor OSD showed 144 Hz) previously on Sequoia 15.0/15.0.1.

using tile now dragging windows to the side makes safari windows go mad and disappearing, a big bug, never happened before

Extremely odd and specific question… Since updating to 15.1, has anyone else experienced YouTube videos where the audio is… pitched down and slightly slower so that it desyncs from the video? Or could this just be Google’s newest attack on ad blockers?

I also had my first-gen Magic Trackpad refuse to connect entirely until I simultaneously changed the batteries (they were fine), made my M2 Mini forget about it, turned off Bluetooth, turned it back on, put the batteries in, and then re-paired it. But that’s fixed now.

Updated to 15.1 and have noticed that the Messages app is quite laggy when typing sizeable responses. Anyone else noticing this issue too?

After upgrading to 15.1, my M1 Pro Macbook 14'' camera has become extremely grainy and unusable. This is during day-time with perfect lighting conditions. It's just so frustrating. I hope they fix this ASAP.

That's the actual image captured by the camera. I guess the post-processing is not working.

Do no use restart for memory leaks. Simply keep Activity on all the time in a desktop, and turn off the app that is leaking.

Yes - Only a few sentences are enough to make it behave like a laggy remote terminal. It's been driving me crazy.

Updated to 15.1 today on my M2 Pro and here's what I've noted so far:
  • Logitech mouse is super laggy and spotty via bluetooth.
  • Locking my screen does not make it go idle, it stays on indefinitely no matter what I change in the Lock Screen settings
  • My AWU2 no longer unlocks my mac. It doesn't even acknowledge that it's there, wherein before it would sometimes say "you need to enter your password to unlock with your watch" when in between charging the watch. I've reset the setting multiple times
I haven't used it much else today, so I'll update this post as I notice more issues

German Language Bug:
In my install of Final Cut Pro, bought through the US App Store, the command set inside of Final Cut Pro/Compressor is set to German, that is QWERTZ keyboard layout..I have used Feedback Assistant FB13734686, I have listed this on forums, it is a huge problem here in South Africa, it only seems to affect M series devices, not Intel devices.
