Hey everyone,

I upgraded my iMac today to macOS Sierra today but it's causing my fans to run consistently. I'm not sure why this is happening. Anyone else having these issues? Specs are listed below. Thanks!

iMac (27-inch, Late 2012)
Processor: 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB

Wait a few days. After an update, the OS requires some time to settle down...it could be reindexing, or updating Time Machine backups (both local and wireless), sending to/from iCloud, etc. A lot of the activity is normal and will end once it catches up on it's housekeeping tasks. Mine took about 36 hours and now everything is great.

Not just spotlight. Also the Photos app runs hot for a few days as it sets up the new memories albums. That uncovered a thermal sensor failure in my old MacBook. Sigh.
