It seems DFS (Distributed file system) is broken. Unable to traverse a DFS namespace. Anybody else experiencing this?
I have an issue with Time Machine over SMB in Sonoma. The existing Time Machine backup drive (NAS share) didn’t work after the upgrade from Ventura to Sonoma. After I unmounted the NAS SMB share, Sonoma couldn’t re-mount it. The process would hang. I had to manually mount the same network share via AFP and then choose it as a Time Machine backup drive. That worked fine. So, the default network protocol for Time Machine backups in Sonoma (SMB) doesn’t work in 14.0It seems DFS (Distributed file system) is broken. Unable to traverse a DFS namespace. Thank you - can confirm - the SMB shares I was accessing on 14.0 contained empty folders, with the latest 14.1 beta, everything's back...I installed the beta 14.1 (23B5056e) and solved the issue.
It's still not working for me, please advise if you upgraded to Beta versionworking again between Sonoma 14.1 and win10.
14.1 has at least fixed that for me. I can now connect to the corporate Windows file server.I can't connect to the corporate file server, at the moment. It looks like an authentication issue (but same method and credentials works from an Ubuntu VM).
