Resolved Issues
New Issues
(If you are encountering any issues, please press "Edit" on the bottom of this post and add it here)

  • Safari tabs blank page issue - when switching between open tabs in Safari - if you hover the mouse over the tab long enough for a mini preview to pop up, when you click the tab, the page will be blank--until you move the mouse. If you're able to click the tab before the preview, the page displays normally.

Remaining Issues
  • External Hard Drives will show the icon used in Sequoia
Untested Issues
  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0
Additional Notes
  • This is not currently usable on a day-to-day basis and certain apps may not work. To see those apps, you can check this thread.
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 26 Tahoe will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.

I've got a question. I wanted to update my M1 iMac to DB8 but for some reason it just doesn't show? I'm on macOS Sequoia and when I click developer beta on 'Beta updates' it just says my mac is up to date. If I do public beta however, the file appears. Is there a fix for this?

Most common reason is because you have Rosetta. It takes a little bit longer for Apple to release Rosetta but it should be out now.

EDIT: please ignore what's written below.
After some time the update showed up.

Macbook AIR M1
Developer beta channel
I can't see the update - my Mac doesn't find it no matter what
I'm currently on the 25A5346a build (Mac OS 26 beta 7)

Anyone else in the same situation or who knows how to solve it?
I've already restarted the laptop, did not help.

Safari disappeared from the Dock for me after the update.
Common observation on this:
I remember Safari disappearing from the Dock after (separate) Safari updates as a thing for years. Nowadays separate Safari updates tend to be more rare and Safari has been staying in Dock when Safari is updated with the system.

I’ve had my Mac Studio on beta 7 twice freeze up completely on me, and the left half of my 49” monitor goes completely black while the right half stays on, but the system is completely frozen and have to reboot with the power button. Very annoying and I hope they at least fix crap like this before public release.

my calendar continues to pop up with the week re-arranged (ie it opens to a different 'first day'). otherwise, going pretty well so far, day 1 on beta 8...

Installed just fine on my M2 MacPro and my M2 MBA. Rosetta is installed.

Does anyone else have an issue with the dock disappearing when the Mac wakes up from screen saver mode? Happens to me about 50% of the time. To get it back, I need to manually invoke the screen saver, then move the mouse.

Another way is to restart the Dock app.

In terminal: "killall Dock"

Ever since the PB, my Crucial X9 Pro Drive for Mac (2TB SSD, APFS) has failed to mount, or even be recognized in Disk Utility. This is happening across all my OS26 PB devices (MacBook Pro M1, MacBook Air M3, iPad mini 7 and iPad Pro A18). When I plug it into an iPad with iOS 15.6, it mounts fine. I contacted Crucial support, who said, "It's beta software," which I know, but which is not helpful. I reported it to Apple, but haven't heard back.

Has anyone been able to mount this drive model with the PB? I do have the drive password protected; I don't know if that makes a difference. I have a SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD which has two partitions on it (APFS and ExFAT); it mounts without difficulty.

Any suggestions besides waiting for the production release, then bugging Crucial again? I'm aware of the risks of beta software and can live with not accessing the drive for now, but it was surprising to see it happen.

Beta 7 show 12+GB, but downloaded less then started the update
Beta 9 11+GB, same things.
Is this normal, when some folks are getting 1.5+GB, 3+GB or is it because I have Rosetta 2 installed

Beta 7 was pretty stable for me, but Mail search still doesn't work correctly. Even after deleting mail caches and rebuilding my mailboxes, it's still non functional.
