I'm looking for a macOS text messaging client besides Apple's "Messenger". I love Messenger but I'm using it for my personal texts messages and I'd love to be able to text from my work phone from my Mac.

I've looked at WhatsApp and others but they don't seem to actually sync up to my iPhone texts. Maybe I'm missing something.

Is there a macOS app for that will do this?

MPB with macOS 11.2
iPhone SE (2016) with iOS 14.4

I'd suggest using Telegram. It's available on every platform. Should work/sync well between all your devices.

Are you talking about Messages? "Messenger" is a Facebook messaging app. Messages is Apple's built-in app for messaging via iMessage and, if you set it up, SMS. (The names are all confusingly similar.)

Is your work phone is an iPhone? If so, you could create another Mac user account and sign into it with the same Apple ID that iPhone is signed in with. When you log into that account, Messages there would correspond to what's on your work iPhone.

In the exodus from Whatsapp - due to their new drastic Terms & Conditions - people seem to be fleeing either to Telegram or Signal. Given that there are many going to either, it's a good idea to get both so that you can communicate with people depending on which platform they're using.
