Anyone able to get it to work? I have an 11'' iPad Pro and M1 iMac and nothing is happening. Wifi bluetooth and handoff are on like it says. I also don't see the system preference menu for it that they mention to enable it continuously.

Confirm you're running iPadOS 15 beta and macOS Monterrey beta.

According to the notes on the macOS page on the apple site it’s a current feature not something coming soon.
That doesn't mean Apple enabled it for the first beta. Apple doesn't always enable features and at times, Apple temporarily removes features during beta.

If you are wanting to showcase this for your YT video, you are out of luck for now.

I made an account just to comment here. Running a 2018 Mac book pro and an iPad Pro 12.9, and handoff works between the 2 devices, but universal control does not. I have tried running both wirelessly and through USB, both wirelessly and through USB. New features like air playing to my MacBook work.

I attempted it with an 2018 inte mac book pro, no dice.
I tried with a intel Macbook Pro the July 2019 version- and a M1 iPad Pro - no dice- then I decide to try it with the same Macbook Pro and a iPad that has A chip in it and still nothing

Bugger! I've spent ages trying to get this to work (2020 27" intel iMac / 21" M1 iMac / 2020 iPad Pro) too no avail. All the usual apple fan sites implied it is a working feature - the Verge went through it in some detail. If it isn't included in the first beta they all obviously haven't tried it themselves !!

Updated tried 16" MBP and ipad from latest - no luck, simply not there - i'm sure someone will find a way to use via command line i remember with side car i had to do some work to get it working last release.

A bit disappointed though - no hardware in keynote for new MBP and thought getting a mac mini via universal control would provide the power of two machines and reduce load on my MBP so updated everything to test if it would work well and the best feature of the keynote isn't available in Beta 1 release...

@fishkorp could you please send a link to the apple dev forum you mentioned would like to follow that thread.

Any updates i will edit this post.

  • MacBook Air (2016 onward)
  • MacBook Pro (2016 onward)
  • iMad (2017 onward)

Supported iPads

Do those also include the intel Macbook Pros?
