Has anyone successfully hooked up an older Apple Cinema HD Display 23" w (Plastic Frame 2002) with a late model Mac Pro Tower computer 2010-2011?

I know Apple currently sells the Mini Display Port to DVI Adapter.

And the Apple's discontinued DVI to ADC Adapter (seemingly discontinued later 2009), can be found in some after markets or used markets, such as EBay.

But I have searched on-line for confirmation that such a series of adapters will work, and have found NO clear confirmation from anyone that has recently done this successfully with the newest Mac Pro tower model's of the last year or so.

I am thinking of buying a New Intel Mac Pro to replace my older non Intel G5, and really want to keep my older Apple Cinema HD 23" Display. Either first as my primary monitor now. Later as possibly a second monitor for open palettes.

I really would like to hear from anyone that has done this successfully, to a Mac Pro recent 2010-2011 model.

The current 2011 Mac Pro Tower Model I am considering purchasing, comes standard with the ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card, that has 2 mini display ports & 1 Dual Link DVI port
Thanks.

I would appreciate any technical of informational answers, specific to my actual question if anyone, has such.

I don't need to be directed to someone's business or favorite vendor, as that doesn't answer the technical question I posted.

Thanks for your understanding.

Wow a little touchy. The previous poster was just pointing you to a source to get the adapter that you stated was discontinued.

And to answer your question why wouldn't it? The adapters are made just for that.

Not exactly the same I know, but I'm running the 1920x1080 23" plastic framed Cinema HD display with the official Apple ADC-DVI converter fine on my MacBook Air 2010 revision. The order is then: minidisplayport on the Air - Apple minidisplayport to DVI adaptor - Apple ADC to DVI converter - monitor.

As a thought, wouldn't you be better off skipping the minidisplayport bit and going straight for MacPro DVI socket - Apple ADC to DVI converter - monitor? The dual link thing doesn't matter, should run single link DVI fine which is all you need for the plastic HD display.

I got my ADC converter from ebay or as old stock from an online store, I forgot which, and for the $70 or so cost, I love the fact I can still run my nearly 10 year old monitor! It probably loses out on a few features to modern monitors, but for my purposes it is great!

I'm actually just about to get a new old stock 2009 Mac Pro, I'll be getting a Dell ultrasharp 27" monitor for that, it's about the only current monitor that seems like a proper upgrade from the HD cinema display, they haven't really moved on that much!
