macOS 10.13.6 (17G14042), (Mid 2010) 2 x 2.66 GHz 6-core, 64 GB 1333 MHz DDR3. Boot Rom 144.0.0.0.0
Booting from OWC Mercury Electra 6G SSD, 2 TB Mecury Electra SSD
I am having issues from a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 that has worked well since 2016.
Purchased from macvidcards.com.
If Apple pushed updates in the past I would experience window tearing/glitching/color issues and I would download new drivers from MVC and the updated drivers from their site fixed the problem. However, Apple stopped pushing updates and I have had no issues until last week. Display showed tell-tale signs of drivers needing an update.
Also I no longer had dual display support.
At this point I realize that the NVIDIA driver icon is missing from the finder tray at the top. Checked System Preferences and both of the CUDA Preferences and the NVIDIA Driver Manager will not launch, System Preferences goes into a loop, "must quit and reopen."
I download drivers from MVC and upon launching the package I get this message.
Has Apple decertified the drivers from MVC?
Is there a way to get drivers from another source? I am at a loss of what to do next here.
Appreciate you taking the time to read. Suggestions?
