If you're in Sydney Downtown (CBD), the Apple store has the Quad-Core E5-1620v2 on the lower ground showroom.

I loaded Geekbench 3 on it, and did some speed tests.

So no Sharp 4K 32" for Australia, it appears!

Did the Apple Store Sydney mention when the Mac Pro would become available to buy off the shelf?

(Presumably they'll be stock configurations only if and when they do.)

I wonder if they'll do a sort of retina iPad mini reservation system. That seemed to work out well for minimizing frustration in deciding when to go in to check if they had one. Then again, a Mac Pro isn't an iPad.

That's faster than any of my three 2007 Mac Pro 2,1 8-cores that don't have HT [ http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/286891 ].
