No I'm not implying that I know when the new MacPro will come out. My "end of the tunnel" will be when I hopefully get my replacement Mac Pro this week. I bought a 2009 Mac Pro new almost 2.5 years ago and there have been little issues from day one and growing. The latest has consumed the last 5 weeks ( except for a three day break when I brought it home only to find the larger issues not resolved, then back to them) The local Apple store has had it now for three weeks, this current visit and several days ago the decision was made , by them, to replace it. The people there have been great and I am appreciative of their and Apple's decision. Problems included issues with hard drives, optical drives and operating system software. Yes, I'm frustrated with not having my main computer for so long, but the good news is many faceted. First, I had my Mac Book Pro to partially fill in. Second, I have learned lots about what my Ipad can do, and third I'm getting a NEW ( not re-furbished) Mac Pro and better than the one I had, so the wait has been rewarded.
Perhaps being redundant, but I can not say enough good things about the techs at the local Apple Store or the much appreciated attitude of Apple to replace my machine. Interestingly, is that the Apple data base shows very few problems with the 2009 Mac Pro, mine was just "one that slipped through". So very soon i will be back to enjoying the power and flexibility of the Mac Pro and for hopefully many trouble free years of service.
Oh, the question people will ask is, "will you be upset if they announce an upgrade shortly after you get your new machine.?" The answer is no, as technology moves on and what I have services my needs and desires.
