I was surprised they ditched the dual processor configuration. After checking new MacPro's internals and how it was designed, I thought but wait a minute, they can very easily make a dual and even a quad version of this same tower.

Please find my design concepts, by very simply extending the tower and putting in a longer processorboard that holds more processors. Tweeted from @stijnvdhoven send to Apple, Tim and Steve Woz. :D

I doubt that that would work. In modern computers the thermal design is pretty important - especially with the nMP. Just stacking Hardware on Top of each other would make cooling almost impossible. You would need to increase the airflow for cooling quite a bit and thus also increase the noise level pretty badly. Your Idea is not practicable.

A fan at the bottom and a fan at the top would create a suction effect to get the heat out of the tube.

I agree with others, you really should have the tube be wider, not longer. That way you could keep the same airflow speed to keep it quiet but just add more airflow. You could potentially change it from a 140mm fan (as in the current nMP) and change it over to 200mm.

I put this in the parody photo thread in January.

I kept the same proportions as the original, but made it taller to accommodate the second CPU and wider to get 12 DIMMs on each CPU.
