I think I will be picking up a new RiMac in the next month or so and will need to sell my heavily upgraded Mac Pro (4.1/5.1):

6 Core 3.33GHZ
24GB
2 X 2TB 7,200RPM drives
BlueRay
2 X 500GB Crucial 550 SSD on PCI-E card (~800MB/sec)
eSATA card

When doing some research on what I might be able to get for it, it almost looks like this machine might be sort of like a heavily renovated house in a middle of the road neighborhood, and it actually might be a much better deal for me to "part out" this machine to get the most cash for the iMac.

Do you think it would be worth to list individual components here (I have access) or on eBay, or just sell the entire machine?

THX

You could try selling the entire machine first for whatever you think it is worth, but the likelyhood of someone needing that exact configuration and willing to pay for it is small.

Probably you'd get more parting it out to some degree, but it's a heck of a lot more time and work to do so. Therefore I'd still give a try selling it altogether first just in case you get a lucky match with a buyer.

Compare additional time vs what it is worth.

If you are in a decent sized city, try selling local first. They test it and walk away, you have a wad of cash in your hand, DONE.

Shipping something that large costs, and if it is damaged or they THINK it is damaged or don't like it, frequently you end up eating ALL of the shipping and are back at square one.
