MacPro1,1 and SATA3 HDs

Hello all. I have a MacPro1,1 (OSX Tiger) and I want to upgrade the internal hard drive. Will my system be able to use the SATA 3 hard drives? Any limit on hard drive GB size with my current set-up?

You can use SATA-III hard drives in any currently available capacity, but they'll run at SATA-II speeds (the internal controller is SATA-II). But that's not really a big deal unless you're running several of them in RAID 0/5/6, as mechanical drives don't come close to saturating even SATA-II bandwidth otherwise.

Thanks Captain! I checked and discovered I can use SATA 3 with my Voyager Q (old model), but it will not work with a drive above 2GB (according to a rep @ OWC). I had thought I'd might have a 2GB limit with hard drives in the bays of my MacPro1,1 as well. Glad to know it can go beyond 2GB.
