updated to Mavs with Tiamo routine and SSD as boot.
has issues waking from longer sleep, say 30 mins plus.
The screen wakes up and I see the desktop, but I get the spinning beachball.
The only thing that works from that point is a 10 sec power button hold to shut down.

it's the OEM pram batt. Might that be it?

I also have heard, though not proven, that the OEM 512M RAM may coz the issue in slots A-1 and 2.
So I removed completely to test. Still have 8G ram installed in the proper manner.

Could I safely remove the hibernation routine with Terminal?
pmset hibernatemode 0. or perhaps change it to a longer default, say a couple hours?
I have Energy Saver/Computer Sleep set to 1hr and that hasn't helped the issue. I just set to 3 hrs to see if there is any change.

I've tried pram and pmc reset. No change.

I also ran AHT from the disc, for what it's worth, the long version.
No issues.

I wonder if its' a certain app or perhaps java?
It's on my wifes side of the machine and she uses java. But wouldn't java be a global install?
In any case, with OEM ram pulled and Computer sleep set to 3 hrs, so far so good.

nope, OEM ram and 3 hr sleep time didn't make a difference.

so I changed sleep computer to never and sleep drives whenever possible.
so far, seems that combination works.
