Thunderbold Display brother, year 2011 27inchiIs it a Thunderbolt Display (as your post states) or a Cinema Display (as your signature states)? There's a big difference. The TB Display requires a Thunderbolt connection to drive it, so you won't get that to work on a classic Mac Pro. Well, not without a lot of TB3 hacking and an adapter, I guess. The Cinema Display uses Mini DisplayPort, so it should work. So, which do you have?
I gotcha...know all about it...writing this on one right this second. But your signature is in conflict w/ your post, hence my wanting to clarify. You will not be able to use the TB Display w/ your Mac Pro (aside from the aforementioned possibility of a "hacked" TB3 PCIe card installation and then a TB3-to-TB2 adapter connected to that). Sorry.Thunderbold Display brother, year 2011 27inchi

i have Thunderbolt Display 27 2011I'm sorry, I just don't follow you. I can't tell whether:
– you have a Cinema Display or Thunderbolt Display
– you have a 2010 or 2012 Mac Pro (they're essentially the same, but you've mentioned both model years)
– it is "working fine" or "only black screen"
The Thunderbolt Display should not work with a classic Mac Pro (2006–2012). As you can see in the System Requirements section of the link you posted above, Mac Pro does not appear there.
Apple Thunderbolt Displays are only compatible with late-2013 Mac Pro or 2019 Mac Pro. Earlier Mac Pros DON'T support Thunderbolt connections.i have Thunderbolt Display 27 2011

ATD will not work with your Mac Pro.
Being as this is a few months ago, and I have seen some YouTube that say they can, (I don't know enough to say if they are right) is it still the case that you can't get a Thunderbolt display to work on 5,1 Radion Sapphire GPU?Apple Thunderbolt Displays are only compatible with late-2013 Mac Pro or 2019 Mac Pro. While for sure you can hack it to make it work, see the thread below, it's still a hack and there are several incompatibilities.Being as this is a few months ago, and I have seen some YouTube that say they can, (I don't know enough to say if they are right) is it still the case that you can't get a Thunderbolt display to work on 5,1 Radion Sapphire GPU?
I saw one that claimed an ASUS ThunderboltEX 3 card.
