Anyone hear of a Director MX? it seems like Macromedia has updated their entire line. With the exception of Director. It's my understanding that they've been on 8.5 for a while. And to me it seems that Director combines elements of all Macromedia products. So since almost everything else macromedia makes is either MX or in the exception of Freehand 10. All OSX compatible. So i was curious when is Director making the leap? The reason i ask is that i am taking a media production class that is heavy in director and i am getting tired of booting into OS 9. It can run in classic but it is rather buggy (crashes, cannot move objects in the score properly,....)

No idea when it will be released for OSX, personally I think it'll be out in the next 6 to 9 months........ even longer maybe as even a beta has yet to be announced.

There are alot of people waiting for Director to finally make an appearance on OSX, so hopefully Macromedia will be releasing it and not drop it as some rumours I've heard have suggested, or worse replace it with Flash........

I use Director alot in Classic, and can't say I have many problems, occasionally my cursor will disapear and I'll have to reboot Classic, but Director itself is rock solid, always has been and I've never had problems with stability.....

i'd like to see extended funtionality though, such as support for DVD authoring, and better Vector control....... and maybe support for IDTV standards, Director still very much has a place in the New Media world, and I hope Macromedia realise this and get a move on..... it's the one package that is stopping me fully dropping OS 9
