The program makes terrible lowball offers. It's borderline predatory and scummy to me. Disappointing cash grab by MR in my opinion.

Designed for lazy people who cannot be bothered with eBay. It's a steal.....for MacRumors...

I wouldn’t say “lazy people” but I would say people who don’t feel like dealing with possible scammers over the internet. Convenience has a price that many are willing to pay.

MR isn't forcing you to use them. It depends on the individual, how much their time is worth, convenience, hassle of dealing with private buyer scumbags/flakes, etc.

Basically, if you're a busy professional making good money you'll take the convenient route via a service. On the other hand, if you have a lot of free time and don't mind risking your safety and wasting time with low ballers and flakes then you might be able to squeeze a few more dollars from a private buyer.

Considering that the prices are lower than Apple which is low. Can’t see the appeal here really but cool for them.

The new banner on the side of the site promoting the buyback program looks so unbelievably out of place and poorly designed. Why on earth would you do that :/

It should also be made a lot clearer that the program isn't run by MacRumors at all, and is instead a reseller program from MyPhonesUnlimited.com, with MacRumors scraping a bit of profit off the top in exchange for offering people a lower buyback price.

As has already been mentioned above, Apple will give you more...so what the heck is the point? To scam unsuspecting people. Very counter productive given this is supposed to be a place to help Apple product owners, not rip them off.

Offering a lower price than Apple etc. does not equate to a scam. No one is getting ripped off. It would behoove you to use words in their proper context and meaning.
