I don't really have a question... I'm just saying that I have just dug my old 1.25 Ghz G4 mac mini out of the closet and it works perfectly now that I've re installed Tiger. Only has 512 megs of ram too and it's faster than my laptop with 2 gigs of ram and a 1.33 ghz processor. :) Now that the mini is back in commission, I'll give it to my mom, get a new 13" macbook later today and give my powerbook to my friend who needs a computer but can't afford one because his fiance is due in August. If you're thinking about getting a mac, think no longer. (GET ONE.) ;)

I agree wholeheartedy.

When I was about to leave for college last fall, my dad offered me his old work computer to take with me: IBM Thinkpad 1.8 GHz Core Duo. Unaware of this, my brother had just picked up old iBook g3 900MHz from a YARD SALE for $20!! and offered it to me as well.

Needless to say which one I chose. :)

The only problems I ever had with the iBook were watching videos. Everything else worked fantastically. I ran Adobe CS2 and Vectorworks '08 without ever having an issue.

I have been very happy with it, and I am now a mac for life.

Enjoy the new computer! BTW, which 15" did you get? The new lower priced one, mid or high?

Lower priced... way more computer than I need but i really needed a bigger screen... Love this thing!

Edit; I mainly do basic stuff ... Some movie stuff-- now that I have the computer, i'll need to check out imove and stuff like that.

lower priced?

have you ever compared prices of pc's to mac stuff?

I can guarantee you that my $800 HP TX2500z would cost at least $1,200 or more if it was made by apple.

I'm talkin amd x2 64 ultra and a ATI 3200hd graphics card with 3 gigs of ram. whereas the competing base model macbook was still working intel gma graphics and 1 gig of ram.

but I guess you get what you pay for (HP support sucks)

This week, I'm going to order a Mac mini from a local authorized reseller to replace my Power Mac G4 AGP Graphics.
