Hi. I have an issue with auto brightness. actually it works somehow, but sometimes the display recognizes there isn't enough light and it dims. although I'm in a bright place (not very bright, for example if I'm in bright room and stand in front of the sensor with 30cm distance it dims). for better understanding, imagine you're in a room with enough light but no lamps are on. and the Mac just dims the display to the lowest point sometimes and nothing can be seen.

Right. Personally, I don't like my monitor brightness changing when the sun goes behind a cloud…so I turn that stuff off and just adjust it myself when I need to.

Additionally, I have installed "BetterDisplay" which, in its keyboard preferences, has a switch to "make fine scale default for brightness keys" so that I don't have to hold down shift+option when changing the brightness to get the screen just right.

There may be other utilities that can do the same thing.

thanks, I turned off and then on auto brightness and it seems works usual, but not for a long time.
