My daughter will graduate law school next spring and is thinking about a new computer. She has a Dell now. Are there any lawyers out there who use them at law school or within their firms??? She is hesitant, but has obvious Mac-envy since she saw my Powerbook. I'd love to get her one, but again, she is a bit leery.
Thanks.
Frank

I'm not sure if any thing on this site will help but it's worth checking out. It might be a bit dated.
I'm a mac technician my self and the company I work for does support for a major law firm here in New Zealand. They use macs but I'm not sure to what extent.

Actually, it seems like there are lots of lawyers out there using macs. I just purchased some creature speakers off of eBay from an attorney who's a Mac User, and I hear a lot about people buying Powerbooks to go off to law school.

Unless there's some bizarre proprietary system that her firm uses to network their system or manage clients, I don't see how your daughter couldn't use a mac.

lots of people here at the law center use macs...though i will have to say that till recently Safari wouldnt work at all with westlaw online and occasionally it still gives errors with all of the pop up link viewers. thats about it though.

i dont see why a lawyer couldnt use a Mac....the only thing i could think of that would cause a problem is if the office used computerized billing and it was PC only...though VPC should eliminate that problem.

all we lawyers really do is read and write :p
