Hmmmm.....
Makes me wonder if the M2 "replacements" for the MBP 14/16" are "just around the corner", coming in sooner than was expected...?

Crazy. Even resellers here in DE have dropped the 16" Max by €400, that's quite the rare occurrence.

The M1 Pro is discounted by €450 here in my country making the base model cheaper than the M2 Air with 8GB/512GB. I know that a new model is coming soon, but how likely is it that the new model will also see an increase in price?

If you're outside the US, probably pretty decent. It would be a good excuse for a hike as the US Dollar Index is going to the moon. It's currently trading at 111. The last time it was this high was around 2000-2002.

going out on a limb here but in the EU, with its current financial and political climate, highly likely.

With the introduction of the MBA M2, APPLE Japan made the ¥$ exchange adjustment across the product lineup, not in my favor working here in Japan and being paid in Yen. The Yen has dropped more since then, so with anything major, I imagine there will be another across-the-board adjustment with prices going up. One of my thoughts when I just got my open-box MBP 14” at a bit below the original ¥ price (and at the current exchange rate in the US discount neighborhood). It has everything I need, and not waiting for the MBP M2 at more cost.

ok, after 20 days of thinking if I should buy the MacBook Pro 14 base or not I finally decided to buy it. Just purchased from Best Buy

This will replace my iMac 27 that is currently for sale. This is a great saving to let it pass, especially since I think the next version will only be a slight spec bump.

I think this is a great deal to jump on for most people. Since I have an education discount, this is an extra $200 off for me, not $400 off so I'll wait for the M2 release.

Buy it from Costco if you’re even a little bit on the fence between the M1 Pro/Max MBPs and the rumored M2 MBPs. Costco has the same final price as Best Buy but they allow 90-day returns. If you buy an M1 Pro MBP today, there‘s a very high probability that the M2 MBPs will be on the street long before your Costco return window has closed.

I didn't know that about Costco. I do know that Costco doubles the warranty on computers though.
