According to the recent article in MacWorld, revision "C" isn't any faster than revision "B". It seems they thought the processor is held back to keep heat under control. At least that was the theory mentioned in the article.

It is an Ultraportable. It is not suppose to be a speed demon. I have one in my lap right now and its doing amazing writing this thread

I have an MBP for mild lifting and a PC for gaming.

A 3lb ultraportable as sexy as this one has to come with compromises.

I think the battery life is slightly better and the slight speed bump in cpu which you may not notice in most actions you take and a HUGELY lower price. I think thats the real upgrade, the price. I paid 1738 with overnight shipping for a MBA with 128GB SSD and 2.13 core duo. I think thats a big ass upgrade

If you are looking for power, I would recommend an MBP.

I guess I wasn't clear. I agree with everything you said. I just think if Apple is selling faster processor speed with their new announcement, then it should be faster. I wasn't comparing the MBA to the MBP. I've been looking at the two MBA's and it doesn't seem to matter which one you get as far as performance is concerned.

well IT IS faster, it is clocked at 2.13 vs 1.86. So with that in mind it is "faster" but does that equate to faster real life performance? Debatable as its not a big enough jump in this processor for you to see THAT much gain. I am sure you can see some gains of seconds less here and there but not much else.

I would recommend the refurb 1.86 with the 128GB SSD for 1449 from apple if you are looking to save a bit.

For me the decision was simplified when I could get this one for 1738 and the refurb for about 1550. To me the less than 200 less I paid for this is worth it for being the latest and greatest even if the spec bumps werent huge.

I didn't realized that you had already purchased your MBA. I'm heading to Apple today and may do the same. If you look at the top page of MacRumors, a summary similar to mine is there this morning. Here is the article.

Don't believe everything you read. I have a new one, and it doesn't seem slower than my last rev B 1.86/SSD. I would still recommend a new one...
