In the article on the MacWorld website they talk about the iphone being "24 days" away. The 24 days in to June 11 at the MacWorld conference. It says thats the official release date. They even go as far to say thats the day we need to be somewhere buying one. Anyone hear anything about this? I havent read anything about the release date.

Which Macworld article? The latest I see on their site is one repeating the "late June" estimate from Apple.

I don't think June 11th is the official date. There is no launch date on Apple's website.

But, being that today is May 20th, you would think that they would announce the launch date soon.

Some people do have to make an excuse to miss work that day!!

I think we will hear the release date of the iPhone at WWDC - and not a day sooner - but whether or not that release date will be the day of WWDC is still anyone's argument. As much as I hate it, I am expecting the guys at Cupertino to be tight-lipped about the iPhone until the WWDC on June 11th. Maybe if we all pool our money together, we can bribe an insider on the iPhone team and get all the information we need! I'm in for $50!

Hope we hear a date soon, I really need to plan a way to skip work.

i've been thinking of the same exact thing! i'm not usually sick, so that would be a little hard to pull off. if we get at least a couple days of notice before it's in stores, i can re-schedule any meetings for that day and arrange to work from home, which will consist of: checking my work email really early in the morning, then driving to closest apple store, buying an iphone, giggling uncontrollably with unfettered glee, driving home and playing with my new gadget for the rest of the day, then checking my work email one last time before i pass out from iphone overload.
