Mag Safe Light - Off when plugged in?

I know that the Mag Safe light changes from red to green depending on the charge status, but is it ever supposed to be off? Mine goes off after a couple minutes, however I notice when I go to the store and see Macbooks, the light is always on.

It charges my Macbook fine, just the light isn't on. Is that normal?

No, That's Not Normal

if it is charging it shoult be amber.
when the battery reaches full charge it turns to green.

the only time it is off is if it's not connected to your mb - that's how you know it's conected properly.

take it back to apple. something's wrong somewhere.

try unplug it and plug it back on... my mom's macbook had that problem once, but i think never since.

Mine does it occasionally. I just reconnect it and it works.

The light goes off even when it's charging or if it's fully charged. If I unplug it and plug it back in, the light will come back on again but turn off after a while.

I didn't think it was normal since I always see the green light on in the store's notebook. I just bought it in Nov so I'll have to see about a replacement. I'd hate to have to send it in before getting a new one though, that means I'd be out a notebook for that period of time.

If your just replacing the power adaptor through AppleCare, they'll send you a new one, you place your adaptor in that box, tear of the top label (revealing a return label underneath), and send it back.

It doesn't cost you anything and you'll never be a minute without an adaptor.
