Magesafe vs Thunderbolt

So do the Macbooks prioritize using Magsafe if it's plugged in, if both Magsafe and Thunderbolt are both plugged in? Or how does that work? Would it be better to have the magsafe plugged in vs just letting it charge via the Thunderbolt port? Or Does it matter at all?

The Mac charges from the device that provides the most power. Depending on what you have connected, that could be either the MagSafe port or the USB-C port.

Your Mac will only draw power from one source at a time, so there are no issues with having both Magsafe and Thunderbolt connected at the same time. It will draw power from whichever source can provided more power.
