Hi!

I really want to get the new Magic Keybord for my iPad Pro (2017) 10.5 inch but unless I'm being blind or not understanding, I can't find anywhere that says my iPad would be compatible.

I wouldn't mind buying the new iPad Pro (or last years model) at least but I need to work out £££ first. Could someone give me some guidance please?

The new Magic Keyboard is only compatible with 2018 / 2020 iPad pro.

If you need all in one keyboard trackpad case for the 10.5 iPad pro, Logitech have one coming soon.

Does that case for the 10.5" iPad Pro work with the 10.5" iPad Air?

Its always been frustrating as an IPad Pro owner since their intro (Have had Pro 9.7, then 10.5, now 11), of how limited and practically non-existant keyboard cases have been using the smart connectors. Is Apple charging too much of a premium for 3rd parties to use the smart connector? I have a SKF for the 11, and its really good, but would like one with a Trackpad without paying USD300.

I was thinking, what about a design using the Smart Keyboard folio as an inspiration, but where the whole magnetic back cover stays in its entirety on the back of the ipad, and the corner fold of case is using a strong hinge. The additional space saved on the keyboard section from not having to ‘detach‘ the bottom third of the back cover can be used for the trackpad. The keyboard section would need to be heavier to counterbalance the weight of the ipad. Does that make sense? Would love it if Zagg or Logitech made it using the smart connectors.
