I've had a MM1 since it came out, 9 years ago.
it still works perfectly fine, but i wanted an all black combo to go with the new mini.

im on my second. first one had a very wide base, the base edges were protruding far beyond the top glass.

im on my second one, and the top seems to be "moving around" and right-click is very hard to do...

I'd hate to replace it for the third time, but having my hand used to the old one (that was perfect), mm2 seems to have shoddy and inconsistent quality control.

i used many first generations and they all worked the same...

I like the MM1 mainly because it takes rechargeable batteries, which last me a good long time per set. I use rechargeables for several things with a good charger, so there are always fresh ones on hand. The MM2 has a built in Li-ion battery that will eventually die (after many years probably, but replacing it will not likely be cheap, if even possible). In my mind, the MM2 is a disposable mouse.

Probably true, but i'm also pretty annoyed by the AA batteries of the MM1.

in any case, I will request another swap. if the 3rd one is crap, I'm going back to my white MM1.
