Magic Mouse 2 slow to track

I thought my MM2 was really slow to track across the screen even though I have it set to maximum tracking speed in system preferences.
So I googled it and it seems to be quite a common complaint.
I found the page below and tried their solution and it works marvellously - until I reboot - then it's back to default speed 3 (I set it to 5). 5 is much more like what I'd expect normally.
Surely with the command used it should keep to that setting? ie
defaults write -g com.apple.mouse.scaling 5.0

if that's the only way the speed is solved for you, maybe you could make a LaunchDaemon for that command - then it would get executed with every system start https://developer.apple.com/library...stemStartup/Chapters/CreatingLaunchdJobs.html

not a direct solution for your mouse speed problem, but at least could make your life easier.
