I have an original Magic Mouse (battery model). The issue isn't with the mouse, but with the Bluetooth Device display.

When I have been away from my iMac for awhile (it's powered on, but not being used, as when I go to bed, and then start using it again in the morning; just one example), clicking on the Bluetooth icon shows the mouse (Apple Magic Mouse) under Devices (it's the only Bluetooth device I have with the iMac) but not the remaining battery percentage. I have to click on the icon a second time and then the remaining percentage displays. Once displayed, it will continue to be shown (when clicking on the Bluetooth icon) as long as 'some amount of time (yet to be determined)' hasn't elapsed since last clicking on the icon. This behavior was not happening in the prior macOS, and I'm not sure if it was happening in Version 11.0.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yes, I saw this with an AA powered Magic Mouse. Have submitted feedback to Apple through the feedback app. One observation: once my battery charge indicator is showing, it survives logging out and logging in again.

Same bug here. I hope this is fixed with the 11.2. Did you try it ?

Not for me. I'm on 11.2 (macOS Big Sur), fully updated. This 'bug' remains. Annoying is all it is, but it shouldn't exist. The battery level for the mouse should just always be displayed when you access the icon.
