I have a 2011 mac-mini which I had purchased from another user. Every time I boot the computer the trackpad works but the mouse does not work. I have to go to System Preferences and re-connect the mouse. This is very inconvenient as I prefer to use the magic mouse over the trackpad. I am not sure whether the system is looking for a differently named mouse of the previous owner. Kindly help.

Go to Bluetooth Preferences and remove any mice entries you find there, then add your mouse at hand (you will probably need a borrowed wired mouse temporarily while you do this).
